Water.

Oh I have drunk enough,
and swallowed, and gulped
then spat through grins.
And I have splashed my eyes
shook humbling sodden cloth,
felt shivers start within.
And I have dived to swim,
against the current’s sway
with limbs that struggle on
but know not what they see -
this most divine commodity,
this precious thing
that links our souls.
And I shall waste
no more.
