You and I are rain
Seeds
need rain
like you and I
disolving soil and
seeping down to earth
once and through again
we’ll go like icey broth
where winter chimes
in want and wait for sun
let us awaken, nourish all
watch each kernel
every disparate husk
writhe and double
push cloy clay and loam
grasp the psalm of storms
and later, balm
of kindle stars.
We are rain indeed
you and I
upon such footings now -
with joy we must fall
and sing this rattle song
to calm and tell of time
renewed, like seeds
and rain
like you,
and I.

I love the words you use. You use them like no one else I know, and by “know”, I casually refer to a lot of years of listening to poetry on tape, vinyl, CD and digithing.
These lyrics - because I think they just might be - are pushing me to think back to Fairport, The Tull et al.
I do so hope that this is not insulting.
Wait on, the juke-box selection motor in my head whirls on. Wait, wait, there’ll be a click, and then the play. The perfect song, we’ll cheer. Hooray!

Thanks. Lyrics? Never really thought about that.
Right, off to dig out my guitar and stick a finger in my ear….!

Again
seeds of love
germinate within
sprout, flower
then push out
through the heart
and beyond
into another’s soul
renewing them
growing, blossoming again
then thrive
a single petal fades
first to die
falling, floating gently
to the ground…
Again
